About Ind 5:

Indiana 5 is a road that fits nicely in the grid. It does, however, take a slight eastward bend as you go south between South Whitley and Warren.

The portion of Indiana 5 between Indiana 218 and Indiana 22 was originally part of Indiana 221, a branch of old Indiana 21 that acted as a direct connection between Matthews and Huntington. When Indiana 221 was decommissioned, the portion between Upland and Indiana 218 was redesignated as Indiana 5.

A scene at the endpoint of Indiana 5 near Upland. While this picture is a bit sign-heavy, there is a farm building sort of in the background.
