Indiana 19 has existed since 1926 pretty much as it is, The portion between Peru and Indiana 18 was added on when Indiana 21 was decommissioned, and Indiana 19 slowly overtook US 112/Indiana 112 to the north of Elkhart. |

This is the view of the area and signage at the point where Old M-205 becomes Indiana 19. The sign, while a good marker of where the border between Michigan and Indiana is, can be anticlimactic without the big "Welcome to Indiana" splash sign a bit further down. |

Here's the "End Indiana 19" signage about a quarter mile south of Michigan. A bit further up, you can see the big light blue "Welcome to Michigan" sign from when the road north of here was a State Route. |
