About US 30:

This road, a combination of the Lincoln Highway and The Yellowstone Trail (Lincoln Highway angled up to Elkhart, then went through South Bend and New Carlise before angling down to Valparaiso) cuts across northern Indiana. Without the toll road to the north, I-80 would have likely gone alongside US 30, but it is important enough as it is to be divided through most of its routing and have interchanges at busy crossings.

Western Entrypoint: Dyer

This is looking down US 30 eastbound as it enters Indiana. The next couple miles of this highwas are called the "Ideal Section," where they built the road to certain standards, including lighting and sidewalks.

This is looking down US 30 westbound as it enters into Illinois. This goes on for a few hundred yards, then at the first light US 30 turns northward while the Lincoln Highway (as a left turn) continues westward.
